Here are some events that PTK is involved/looking to be involved in with semester. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer for one, please contact one of the PTK advisors, Dr. Chisholm (james.r.chisholm@svcc.edu) or Mrs. Anton (lori.h.anton@svcc.edu).
PTK Bake Sale - Tuesday, February 9th, 10am-3pm
Please let one of us know if you would like to donate something to sell at the bake sale or if you would be able to sit at the table for part of the time to sell the baked goods.
If you plan to bring items for the bake sale, you can drop them off at the tables near the physics area right outside of Dr. Chisholm's office (2G4) before 10am. Also see the link below for some health/safety regulations we were asked to pass along from the Lee County Department of Health.
Sterling HS College and Career Fair - Wednesday, March 2nd, 8:15 - 11:25am (at SHS)
On March 2nd, Sterling High School will be hosting their College & Career Fair for their freshman students. Last year, they had 300 freshmen and several upper class students walk through the fair and SVCC had several programs represented at tables. The fair will run from 8:15-11:25.
PTK would like to send some students (perhaps SHS alums?) to represent both SVCC and our chapter to prospective students. If you are free this morning, it would be an excellent opportunity to do some PTK outreach, as well as assist our chapter in completing a regional PTK project.
Please RSVP to one of the advisors by Thursday, February 11th so that we may make arrangements.
Earth Day Trash Pick-up - Tuesday, April 19th, 1pm -- ??
In cooperation with the Friends of the Prairie Committee, SVCC is looking to participate in a trash pick-up along our sponsored section of Route 2 on Earth Day, and we would like to have PTK be a visible component of this event. More information will be delivered as the event gets closer; please contact one of the advisors if you're interested.
