Hello fellow PTK members!

It is with a saddened heart that I would like to share with you that I will no longer be serving as an advisor to the SVCC PTK BAG chapter.  My duties at the college have changed prohibiting me from being able to continue working in the advisory role.

I have greatly enjoyed working with every member I have met in the last three years.  Phi Theta Kappa is a tremendous organization, and I am wholeheartedly proud of each and everyone of your individual accomplishments.

In the time that I have worked alongside Amy Jakobsen in the advisory role, we have experienced many challenges along the way, but we have also experienced many more laughs, fun times, and memorable moments.  Each step of the process has been a rewarding and meaningful endeavor.

Life is about change, and that isn't always a bad thing.  I am sure that however the organization gets redefined following my absence, that it will in some way be a better organization in the future.  I look forward to seeing all of the changes to come.

I would especially like to thank all of the officers who I have grown to know and admire throughout the duration of my leadership role. You have all brought many unique and worthwhile attributes to the chapter's success.

I would like to thank Dr. George Mihel, the Board of Trustees, the Sauk Foundation Board, and the broader Sauk Valley Community College institution for supporting PTK in recognizing its importance here at the college.  Many students have benefited from PTK, and I hope to see that continue.

I would like to thank Mr. Steven Nunez (former 15 year advisor to PTK BAG) for his early and continued support and patience as Amy and I fumbled through the learning process.  We weren't always the easiest of mentees, but he I think he secretly liked being needed. :-)

And, last but certainly NOT least, I would like to thank Amy Jakobsen for sharing in this journey with me.  We both have a love for psychology, PTK, and in general a positive learning environment for our students.  Without her support, I would not have been able to do half of the things that we accomplished, and in no way would it have been half as much fun. Thank you "Shamy" you are my forever buddy here at SVCC. May PTK forge ahead successfully to that 5-Star rating (no pressure) :-)
